A spouse KITAS (E31A) is a visa for foreigner who has been married to an Indonesian Citizen. This KITAS is a multiple-entry visa that allows the foreigner to stay long-term in Indonesia but not to work or be employed in Indonesia.
This KITAS can be extended every year for a maximum extension of up to 5 times. After a minimum of 2 extensions of the spouse KITAS, foreigner can apply for spouse KITAP. Spouse KITAP is a permanent stay permit that is valid for 5 years.
To get this spouse KITAS, the foreigners are required to have a sponsor, and in this case, your partner who is an Indonesian citizen must be the sponsor. Your sponsor can be your sponsor to get a KITAS and also to get a permanent stay visa / KITAS.
Required Documents (from Applicant):
- Scan of Passport: Identity page and cover (in color). Passport needs to be valid for 18 months
- Certificate of Birth (in English or Indonesian – notarized or legalized)
- Self-Photo (color)
- Bank Statement of Applicant from the last 3 months with minimum balance equals to USD 3,000
- Marriage Certificate (AKTA Perkawinan)/Marriage Report from Embassy (in English or Indonesian – notarized or legalized)
- Original Domicile Letter from Banjar or SKTT (Proof of Residence)

- Copy of Bank Statement from the last 3 months with minimum balance equals to USD 3,000

OFFSHORE PROCESS
1) Add the Family Spouse KITAS (E31A) for Indonesia to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout for payment.
2) After checkout, you will be redirected to a form where you can enter all relevant data for the KITAS application and upload the required documents.
3) We will check your data and documents and get back to you within one business day via email or WhatsApp.
4) If everything is in order and we have received your visa fee payment, we will upload the data into the immigration system. If you have chosen bank transfer as the payment method, we will need a bank transfer receipt from you, as sometimes it takes a while for the money to show up on our account.
5) First, we will register your partner as a sponsor to the immigration system and it will take around 1-2 days until it gets approved by the immigration office.
6) After we get the approval of sponsorship from the immigration office, we will submit your E-Visa to the immigration system and it will take around 7-10 working days to process the E-Visa. When the E-Visa is issued, we will send it to you through WhatsApp or E-mail and you need to enter Indonesia within 90 days of your E-Visa being issued
7) When you already entered Indonesia, please kindly contact us and send the sticker of your arrival, so, we can arrange to pick up your passport or you can come to our office directly to drop off your passport because we need to report your E-Visa and passport to the immigration office within 30 days since your arrival to issuing your multiple-entry.
8) After we submit your passport and E-visa to the immigration office, We will wait for your schedule for photo and fingerprint to the immigration office and we will send it to you when we already get it. You are required to visit the immigration office only once to do photo and fingerprint.

When do I have to extend my Family Spouse KITAS (E31A)?
To ensure a smooth transition, it is advisable to initiate the extension process 2 months before the expiration date.
What happens when I divorce?
Marriage over 10 years: You will have a KITAP and a divorce won’t have influence on your permanent residency. Marriage less than 10 years: You have to provide a new sponsor within 60 days to the Immigration Office.
Can Family Spouse KITAS holders work in Indonesia?
In some cases, Family Spouse KITAS holders may be eligible to work in Indonesia, but this is subject to immigration regulations and specific conditions. Additional work permits (IMTA) may be required.
Are dependent children eligible for permits under the Family Spouse KITAS?
